CSAO is a French company founded by Valérie Schlumberger and now run by her daughter, Ondine Saglio. Its mission is to distribute the work of West Africa's finest artisans and artists throughout France and Europe, while building lasting and equitable relationships with each of them. CSAO is particularly committed to a social and solidarity-based approach in connection with Gorée Island, where it has successfully revived noble ancestral traditions such as embroidery. By organizing embroidery workshops, CSAO has trained approximately 150 women whose work involves creating cushions, bags, and other accessories.
